SYMARK EXPERIENCES STRONG GROWTH AND SIZEABLE REVENUE INCREASE IN 2004

Increased Linux adoption, regulatory compliance and company expansion contribute to 23 percent increase in revenues and 10th straight year of growth

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. – April 4, 2005 – Symark, the developer of leading UNIX/Linux security and administration software solutions PowerBroker and PowerPassword, User Management Edition, today announced that revenues for 2004 grew by 23 percent compared to the same period in 2003. Symark’s 2004 fiscal year marked the 10th straight year of growth for the company, a landmark in any industry.
“Symark experienced substantial revenue growth in 2004, with an increase of 23 percent in the U.S and a 78 percent increase internationally,” said Bob Sommers, chairman and co-CEO at Symark. “The increasing adoption of Linux and regulatory compliance by businesses were big contributors to our growth. Ten years of continued growth is a great achievement for us. We attribute our success to the drive of the entire Symark team and our strong customer relationships.”
  • Besides record revenue and strong cash flows in 2004, other year-end highlights for Symark include the following:
  • Extended the number of new and legacy UNIX and Linux platforms supported from 26 to 111.
  • Released major new functionality with PowerPassword, User Management Edition, adding user account management functionality to Symark’s existing password and login security policies.
  • Listed as No. 397 in Software Magazine’s Annual Software 500.
  • Signed major distribution partners in Asia, including Japan.
  • Extended relationships with the major UNIX and Linux operating system vendors, including IBM, HP, Sun and Red Hat.
Looking towards 2005, Sommers commented, “We believe Symark will continue to grow both domestically and internationally.
