The purpose of the Federal Data Protection
Act is to protect individuals against his/her
right to privacy being impaired through
the handling of his/her personal data. The
Act serves to implement directive 95/46/EC
of the European Parliament and of the Council
of 24 October 1995.
Both PowerBroker and PowerPassword provide
strong access control to personal data residing
on UNIX or Linux systems and addresses key
requirements defined in the Annex for Section
9 Technical and Organizational Measures
that requires both public and private bodies
processing personal data take the technical
and organizational measures necessary to
ensure the implementation of the provisions
of the Act.
