SYMARK UNIX & LINUX HOST SECURITY SOLUTIONS NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH GSA SCHEDULE

Award Winning UNIX/Linux Access Control & User Administration More Easily Available to Government Agencies

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. – February 28, 2005 – Symark, the leading UNIX/Linux security and administration software provider, announced today that it will join the ranks of the United States General Services Administration and will offer its security solutions with greater accessibility and at the best value price to U.S. Federal agencies.
By purchasing directly from the GSA schedule, government customers now have streamlined access to Symark UNIX/Linux security solutions PowerBroker and PowerPassword, User Management Edition. Government agencies will be able to control access to the UNIX/Linux “root” account, centrally create and manage user accounts, enforce password and login security policies, and detail user actions down to the keystroke level.
“We are honored that Symark has attained such a significant recognition and responsibility,” said Bob Sommers, Symark Chairman and Co-CEO. “By becoming one of GSA’s leading UNIX and Linux security authorities, Symark is ready to help federal agencies meet their data center host Linux security requirements with award-winning solutions, enterprise-grade support and service, and through our GSA Schedule, exceptional pricing.”
“In working with today’s complex computing environments, more and more federal businesses are relying on Linux as an operating platform of choice,” Sommers said. “As the level of infrastructure complexity and the number of security threats continue to rise, UNIX and Linux users need access to security solutions specially designed to protect the inherent risks in these platforms, such as super user accounts and poor access controls. Symark’s goal is to provide these solutions to U.S. government agencies so they can efficiently enhance their level of security and meet the challenges of today’s network systems.”
Through the GSA schedule, approved vendors offer Federal agencies a simplified process for obtaining the latest products and services available at the lowest possible price. The GSA ensures that all federal agencies are provided with the same services, convenience and pricing from vendors, regardless of size or location. The program provides more than four million products and services from more than 9,000 commercial suppliers at volume discounts. The Symark GSA Schedule Contract Number is GS-35F-0159R and is valid through November 29, 2009.
